The Science of Information Processing and Computers

The science of processing information with computers is called computer science. The history of computer science dates back long before the modern discipline emerged in the 20th century. The progression from mechanical inventions and mathematical theories to machines and modern concepts has shaped a major academic field and the foundation of a vast global industry.
An electronic calculator or computer is a machine that processes information based on a program.

The First Computer

In 1943–1945, the Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer (ENIAC) was built in the United States. It was the first generic electronic computer capable of performing 5000 operations of addition and subtraction per second, a thousand times faster than other machines of that time. Weighing 30 tons and comprising over 18,000 tubes, ENIAC was a Turing-complete numeric computer, reprogrammable to solve a wide range of calculation problems. One of its engineering achievements was minimizing tube burnout, a common issue at that time. The machine was in constant use for the next ten years.

Algorithmics

In mathematics and computer science, an algorithm represents a method or procedure for calculation, presenting the steps or elementary operations necessary to solve a problem or category of problems. Algorithms are usually concretely implemented through the proper programming of a computer or multiple computers. There are also algorithms yet to be implemented for various theoretical reasons.
The algorithm is a central concept in computer science, playing a fundamental role in constructing all aspects of the discipline, alongside data structures such as lists or graphs. It is also a central concept in modern mathematics, along with the notion of axiomatic systems.

History of Video Games

The history of video games began in the 1950s and 1960s when computer scientists started designing simple games and simulations on minicomputers and mainframes. Spacewar! was developed by MIT students in 1962 as one of the first games with a video display. Consumer video game hardware was introduced in the early 1970s. The first home video game console was the Magnavox Odyssey, and the first arcade video games were Computer Space (1971) and Pong (1972). The success of Pong led to industry saturation and a lack of innovation.

Hardware and Software in Video Games

Video games can be differentiated based on various hardware and software platforms. In terms of hardware, Nvidia is a well-known company in the hardware industry, specializing in the production of graphics processors (GPUs), video cards, and other graphics-related hardware solutions. Nvidia is renowned for its advanced graphics technologies, frequently used in gaming, graphic design, artificial intelligence, and other high-performance graphical domains.
As for software, Bitdefender is a Romanian company specialized in developing cybersecurity solutions, and one of their core products is antivirus software. Bitdefender offers cybersecurity suites with features such as protection against viruses, malware, ransomware, and more.
